Overview
Fluxa is a platform for redefining drug development and manufacturing for life sciences using modern digital technologies. The company’s mission is to accelerate the speed to market for new therapies by helping drug development and manufacturing organizations harness the power of collaboration and data across sites, functions, and processes by providing software that is user-focused, domain-specific, and built on the latest digital technologies.

Objective
Poor team collaboration can become a barrier to an organization’s success.
To accelerate the speed to market for new therapies by helping drug development and manufacturing companies organize their data and efficiently execute their core processes it is crucial to have a system to assign, prioritize, manage, or complete tasks on time and deliver within the budgets.

Research
Pharma has been undergoing significant change as the industry moves towards more specialty drugs & competitive markets

As a result, Operations is increasingly on the critical path to launch, having to do more with less

Objective
Changes in the pharma landscape are putting
increased pressure on Operations

Problem Statement
Operational complexity & knowledge generation increase significantly from Research to Commercialization

Better Approach
Fluxa provides Process & Knowledge Management by seamlessly connecting Research & Manufacturing for process-based industries

Process Outcome
Fluxa is working with Biophorum to help biopharma and CDMOs achieve levels 4 & and 5 in the Life Sciences Digital Plant Maturity Model (DPMM), using Fluxa PKM

Connecting Research and
Manufacturing through a single
source of process knowledge
has significant benefits
Connecting Research and Manufacturing through a single source of
process knowledge has significant benefits
Improve collaboration
(e.g. Development <–> Manufacturing )
Faster, cheaper
NPIs & tech transfers
Increase standardization
and compliance
Better understand why
things changed, not just
what changed

Conceptualization
We started creating the information architecture and low-fi concepts for primary use cases. After getting the go-ahead from the Product Manager, developers, and Stakeholders on the mockups, we began to conduct usability tests with the low-fidelity mockups. Once we had confidence in the design, we began digitalizing designs.

Conclusion
PKM is a class-defining GMP-validated software that provides a single source of truth for the end-to-end process of scaling and manufacturing a drug. PKM enables pharma companies to create a knowledge continuum from research to manufacturing, closing a critical gap across the industry. It is the world’s first true knowledge management application for drug development and manufacturing that enables ‘one-click’ tech transfers – a game changer for accelerating time to market for new therapies and reducing the cost and effort of transferring drug-making technology within/across biopharmaceutical companies and their external partners like CDMOs and academic or government institutions.
